Yamile Orozco

She was born in Barranquilla, Colombia and from a young age she showed her interest in painting. She has dedicated her life to art since 2017, she graduated as an Interior Designer from the Universidad Autónoma del Caribe in 2016 and a year later she decided to dedicate herself completely to experimenting with painting techniques, until she found one with which she could fully express herself.

Her love for small details led her to create with different materials; mosaics with stones, threadwork with knitting thread, among others. After this process of experimentation, she returned to the canvas to capture on them, through small figures, the way she saw what surrounded her. She began painting faces with small flowers, then she painted with hearts and continued creating until she achieved combinations of many figures to form a work, in such a way that it can be looked at closely to appreciate all its details and from afar to contemplate the whole.

Inspiration

"My inspiration comes from nature, I admire the way such impressive landscapes are formed with such small elements, when contemplating them as a whole; I also admire the very small details that are camouflaged in it, such as leaves, animals among other elements, of different shapes and colors. My works are the best way to express the love I have for details, forming through small figures, everyday images that capture my attention, highlighting through each brushstroke, what I wish to convey in my work."
